CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — It was a perfect, sunny day for selling Girl Scout cookies on Milwaukee Avenue on Sunday, and the Girl Scouts from Pritzker Elementary in the Wicker Park neighborhood were bringing in a lot of business.
“We just hold up signs [and] wear cookie costumes, which are right over there,” said one of the girls.
Another one of the girls spoke up: “I volunteered to do a cookie costume for, like, five minutes.”
Their effort worked on Don Daskais, who was walking by their setup outside of Volumes Bookstore at the right time.
“I love thin mints,” Daskais said. “What a great way to get a snack — from real-life people, outside, and it’s seasonal.”
