Police searching for group believed to be responsible for 3 armed robberies on North Side that occurred in 70 minute span

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago police are investigating overnight armed robberies that appeared very similar in three North Side neighborhoods.

The three hold-ups happened within an hour and ten minutes of each other in the Streeterville, Lincoln Park and Wicker Park neighborhoods. Police said the first was around 11:40 p.m. A man and woman were walking in the 400 block of East Ohio when three men got out of a white car, took the man’s phone at gunpoint and hit him in the face.

The other two hold-ups happened in the 1700 block of North Clybourn and the 1800 of West Division. In those cases, too, robbers got out of a white car and took the phones of men at gunpoint.
