
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago police have charged a man for a string of robberies that occurred last week on the North Side.
39-year-old Morris Williams was scheduled to appear in board court on Thursday for three felony counts of robbery. Police are accusing Williams of conducting 3 separate robberies in the 14th District.
The first, detectives said, occurred on July 4 in Logan Square, in the 2400 block of N. Milwaukee Avenue. Williams entered a business, displayed a gun and robbed a 30-year-old man, according to police. Then, two days later, July 6, Williams is alleged to have entered a business in Wicker Park, in the 2400 block of W. North Avenue, and robbed a 37-year-old woman. The third robbery, police said, happened on July 9, one block away, in the 2500 block of W. North Avenue when Williams targeted a woman at a business.
Police arrested Williams on Tuesday in Logan Square, in the 3200 block of W. Fullerton Avenue.
