Woman killed in weekend West Side shooting identified

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - People gathered on the West Side over the weekend to remember someone who died in a car crash four years ago. Then, gunfire erupted.

More than 100 shell casings were recovered by police when the dust settled after the shooting in the 4800 block of West Iowa early Sunday.

A witness told CBS-2 the woman who was killed in the shooting was the girlfriend of the man being celebrated. She’s identified as 25-year-old Terry'a Adams.

“A verbal altercation ensued and then multiple offenders began to shoot. Seven people were hit by gunfire, including a 25-year-old woman who was transported to Mount Sinai, and she succumb to her injuries,” said CPD Area Four Acting Deputy Chief  Adnardo Gutierrez

Of the six other people shot, a 29-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition. The rest were said to be in good condition.

At this point, there have been no arrests.
