(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — It's officially festival season in Chicago!

WBBM Newsradio’s Rachel Pierson has a roundup of weekend events across the region:

—The Chicago Blues Festival returns to Millennium park to celebrate the genre's past, present and future. New this year are neighborhood pop-up concerts, including performances where the Blues began in Bronzeville.

—Hear from some of the biggest artists in Chicago's Soul Scene during Chi-Soul Fest at Navy Pier. The free two-day event is hosted at the Beer Garden and the Polk Bros Park Performance Lawn.

—Art enthusiasts will find plenty of inspiration during the Wells Street Art Festival. Now in its 47th year, the early summer showcase is held between North Avenue and Division in Chicago's historic Old Town neighborhood.

—Just a hop, skip and a jump away is the Old Town Art Fair, which takes place in the heart of the Old Town Triangle Historic District. It includes a garden walk, live music and plenty of food.

—What was once the Hyde Park Brew Fest has turned into an all-out music festival featuring a stacked lineup of artists, DJs, and yes, brewers.

—Looking for some outdoor recreation? Head to McHenry County for the 19th annual Pedal, Paddle, Saddle through the Prairie at Glacial Park. The family-friendly fundraiser offers everything from bike rides to kayaking, canoeing and a trot along the trails.

—Explore the timeless traditions of Mexican folk art at the grand opening of “Alebrijes: Creatures of a Dream World" at Cantigny. The outdoor art exhibit will be available all summer long in west suburban Wheaton.

—It’s all things ale at the Craft Beer Festival in Mundelein. Tighthead Brewing Company is once again teaming up with Mundelein Community Connection Saturday afternoon to bring together your favorite brewers with a few new ones, too.

—And Join the Chicago Dogs Saturday evening as they take on the Kansas City Monarchs at Impact Field in Rosemont.
