DES PLAINES, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Police say a Des Plaines man was charged with attempted murder in a stabbing incident that occurred Thursday.

Police said they were dispatched to the Rand Manor Motel in Des Plaines after receiving a report of Jeremy A. Starling, 32 fighting with an employee of the motel.

The caller, who police say was a different employee of the motel, requested an ambulance, stating that the other employee was bleeding heavily from being stabbed in the head, face, and arm.

The employee  was treated by the Des Plaines Fire Department before being transported to a local hospital.

Police said though Starling and the employee exchanged a few words before the incident, the attack was, for the most part, unprovoked.

Starling is set to appear in bond court.
