Man arrested following mace melee on South Loop CTA 'L' platform: CPD

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago police say one person is in custody after an altercation involving Mace in the South Loop overnight.

The incident happened on the CTA “L” platform on State Street near Roosevelt Road, a little after midnight.

Chicago police said a man was arguing with two women and pulled out some mace and began spraying at them. But, one of the women apparently had some mace too and didn’t hesitate to spray back at the man.

Police arrived and arrested the man, but there are no charges at this point.

The woman did not want to be treated by paramedics.
