CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- With Chicago's City Council members NOT running in next week's elections, there are some very crowded races to fill the seats they leave behind.
21st ward Alderman Howard Brookins Jr. has had that seat for about two decades. Now he said he wants to help run his family's funeral home business.
There are 11 candidates in the Far South Side ward fighting for the right to replace Brookins. Among the better known contenders is Preston Brown, the Committeeman of the 34th Ward.
Ayana Clark is a community advocate for former Congressman Bobby Rush.
Other contenders include Cornell Dantzler and consultant Ronnie Mosely, founder of Homegrown Strategy Group.
