CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Lollapalooza is just around the corner and that means new street closures around Grant Park.

The four-day festival officially kicks off Thursday, but several road closures are already in place, with more to come.

Balbo and Jackson Drives are currently shut down between Columbus and DuSable Lake Shore Drive. Starting at 8:00 Monday evening, both closures will extend to Michigan Avenue.

The stretch of Columbus between Monroe and Roosevelt will shut down Monday evening too.

Most streets are expected to reopen the day after Lollapalooza wraps up on Monday, August 7.

Chicago’s Office of Emergency Management and Communication said traffic control aides will be on-hand downtown to help keep things moving.
