
PALATINE, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Palatine resident Agustin Cabrera is accused of striking a 20-year-old man with his Dodge Caravan Sunday night at the intersection of Dundee and Baldwin roads.
Palatine Police said it happened around 10 p.m. and they were able to locate the 59-year-old thanks to a tip. Cabrera then confessed to the crime.
The pedestrian suffered a fractured knee and was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge for treatment.
According to a press release, Cabrera is charged with a felony count of failure to report an accident with injuries and driving on a suspended license.
If convicted, he could face up to seven years in prison.
During a Thursday hearing, Cabrera’s bond was set at $50,000 and he’s due back in court on Jan. 21.
