CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Even a little rain couldn’t put a damper on the Chicago Air and Water Show today.
Attendee Elizabeth said she loves the show so much, she even took the day off work to watch the rehearsals on Friday.
“I’m a mega-fan. I grew up going to this. I love it.”
She does have a favorite part of the annual show.
“When they go upside down. It’s super cool.”
It was a busy day for the rain gear. “We’ve got two umbrellas, two ponchos and two rain jackets," said fellow attendee Richard.
Despite the rain, the first full-scale Air and Water Show since the COVID-19 pandemic brought out big crowds near Oak Street Beach, and Richard said that’s a welcome sight.
“It’s great,” he said. “There’s a lot of people out. It’s good to be outside.”
