CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The College of DuPage will not mandate students be vaccinated to attend fall classes but there hasn’t been a decision made yet regarding another west suburban college.

School officials at North Central College in Naperville have started to plan a fall semester in which all students will attend in-person classes.

The law requires students enrolled in any college or university in Illinois to show proof of vaccination for many things but COVID-19 hasn’t been added to that list as of now.

The COD held vaccination clinic a few weeks ago for a local elementary school and middle school educators in which some COD staff also was vaccinated.

According to the COD’s COVID-19 dashboard, 61 students and 49 employees have tested positive for the coronavirus since the start of the 2020-2021 school year, and school officials said there has been no known transmission of the virus on campus.
