(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — An Indiana state trooper was taken to a hospital early Monday morning when her squad car was hit by a tanker truck.

Around 5 a.m., Trooper Jordin Bilthuis and another trooper were in a lane of traffic on I-65 where a semi-truck crash occurred between Demotte and Rensselaer.

The troopers had their emergency lights flashing when a tanker truck driven by a Remington man sideswiped Bilthuis’ squad car, Indiana State Police said. The trooper had her seat belt on, and her injuries are said to be non-life-threatening.

Tanker truck driver Jonathan Hanley, 33, was ticketed for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
