A teenager is accused of attempting to kill his neighbor in downstate Decatur.
Ethan Dickerson, 19, broke into his 60 year-old neighbor's home, tied him up and beat him with a pipe wrench because he's homosexual. The neighbor was later found with multiple lacerations and taken to a nearby hospital.
In addition to home invasion and aggravated battery, Dickerson is charged with attempted first degree murder and hate crime. He is currently being held on $1M bond.
