Two people killed after UTV crashes into tree in Antioch

ANTIOCH, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A man and woman are dead after crashing a Utility Terrain Vehicle in unincorporated Antioch Tuesday night.

It happened around 9:45 p.m. near West Dressel Road and Douglas Avenue.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office said a 56-year-old man was driving the UTV and a 50-year-old woman was in the front passenger seat.

For unknown reasons, the UTV veered off West Dressel Road and struck a large tree.

Officials said neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt or helmet and that they were partially ejected.

The man and woman were pronounced dead at the scene and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Both occupants lived in unincorporated Antioch, though they’re names have not yet been released.
