Woman shot onboard South Side CTA bus: Police

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Police are investigating a shooting on a CTA bus Tuesday night on the South Side.

The bus was on Jeffery Boulevard near 71st Street at about 8 p.m.

According to police, a 23-year-old woman was in an altercation with someone described only as “an unknown offender.”  That person pulled out a gun and shot the woman.

Police said she was hit in the collarbone and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where she was described  in good condition.

This may have been caught on camera. There are surveillance cameras on buses.

Police said they’re investigating, and nobody is in custody.

Nobody else was hurt.
