'Wild is an understatement' as Bills Mafia welcomes AFC champs home at airport

Cheektowaga, N.Y. (WBEN) - Wild. Is. An. Understatement.

Those are the words Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen shared on a video he posted after landing in Buffalo and driving through a sea of screaming Bills Mafia faithful awaiting the team.

Thousands of fans packed the cargo terminal area adjacent the Buffalo Niagara International Airport as the Buffalo Bills plane arrived around 1:30am. Chants of "MVP,MVP" and "Super Bowl, Super Bowl" were being screamed as Allen and the rest of the team drove by the mob of fans one by one and making their exit.

The airport welcome home has been a surreal scene in recent years as the Bills have made playoff appearances but the energy of the crowd early Sunday was fueled by the team's impressive win over the Denver Broncos that put them atop the AFC East with two weeks to go in the regular NFL season.
