Pittsford, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Buffalo Bills opened training camp on Wednesday at St. John Fisher University in Rochester, as the team gets into the full swing of preparations for the 2025 football season.
With the opening of training camp, it provides Bills fans from near-and-far the opportunity to take in the sights and sounds of camp, and get an up-close look into the team ahead of kickoff for the regular season.
"High expectations for this year, so we're excited to see everybody up close and personal. And the vibe is really good around here, and everybody's excited," said Bills fan Andy from Ontario, Canada.
For many, it's a return trip to St. John Fisher University to see the Bills begin to ramp things up for the upcoming season of football, but for others like Penny from Webster, this training camp was a first for her.
"This is my, actually, very first time, and I had two different people enter the lottery for me to get me tickets since I didn't win them, but they won them and were nice enough to give them to me for my first time ever here," Penny said with WBEN. "But I've been a Bills fan since O.J. Simpson."
With the chance to catch the Bills in action for practices in Rochester, there are a number of focal points that fans can pay attention to once the players hit the field. Brooke from Fairport was excited to take in a number of different elements of camp this year.
"I'm just excited to see the team together again, see some of the new players. Just super excited to see Josh [Allen], because I think of him as my child. Just love it," said Brooke with a laugh. "I went to St. John Fisher, so it's exciting that training camp is here and in Rochester. The fans are out, it's a great day. [HBO's] Hard Knocks is here this year, which is really cool for us, more visibility. Super pumped."
For other fans like John from Gates, there is only one player that's catching his eye once again this training camp.
"Josh Allen. The MVP," he said with WBEN. "Always love to see him come back out and the way he leads the team."
Ahead of training camp on Tuesday, the Bills got the fanbase even more excited for the upcoming 2025 season of football by announcing the return of the '90s era red helmets for the final home game set to be played at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park.
The Bills played some of their best football in franchise history while wearing the red helmets, and fans admit they were pleased to see the team bring it back, even if it is for only one game this year.
"I got chills when I saw the tweet come across the timeline yesterday. Very, very excited," Andy said with WBEN.
"I think it's really cool. I wish they were doing it for a more important game, maybe than the last game with the Jets, like a Monday night or something. But it's good to have those red helmets back," added Brad from Livonia.
