Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - A 17-year-old boy is in critical condition after he was hit by a Buffalo garbage truck Wednesday morning.
Police say the city sanitation truck backed up and struck the male from Buffalo. The 17-year-old was transported by ambulance to Oishei Children's Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.
Officials say the individual has undergone surgery after suffering multiple internal injuries.
Buffalo police impounded the sanitation vehicle on Wednesday afternoon, and it is in custody at the Seneca Street garage.
The incident remains under investigation by the Buffalo Police Department and the Erie County District Attorney's Office.
