Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Buffalo Police Department announced on Monday the arrest of four individuals stemming from a fight that broke out during a high school football game at All High Stadium on Friday between Bennett and McKinley High Schools.
Among the four arrested on Friday included three teenagers - two 15-year-olds and a 14-year-old from Buffalo - as well as a 46-year-old man from Kenmore.
One of the 15-year-olds and the 14-year-old teenagers were charged with resisting arrest and obstruction of justice, while the other 15-year-old faces just one count of obstruction of justice.
Meanwhile, the 46-year-old, Delshon Taylor, was arrested and charged with obstruction of justice and multiple counts of disorderly conduct.
The fight allegedly broke out in the stands at All High Stadium during the first half of the game, as Buffalo Police was called to the scene and worked with school security on site.
With the assistance of the Buffalo Public School District, Police called the game just before the start of the third quarter to ensure public safety. Bennett was leading the game 36-0 at the time the game was called, and was credited with a win.
Buffalo Public Schools Superintendent, Dr. Tonja Williams released the following statement on Monday regarding new security measures for high school football games within the district:
"High school football is a time for fun and healthy competition, but it must be done in a safe environment.
"As a result, starting immediately, every player and cheerleader will be able to invite three student spectators to each home game, so we have a record of who is attending games. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Adults are welcome to attend games with identification.
"All High Stadium and Riverside High School will also have an Evolv security system installed; the gates will close 30 minutes after the start of each game; and loitering is not permitted during or after games.
"We will also explore expanding the live streaming of games so fans can watch them online.
"The Buffalo Public Schools continues to work with the Buffalo Police Department as it investigates the incident at Friday evening's Bennett-McKinley game. Again, safety and security continue to be my top priority."
