Tonawanda, N.Y. (WBEN) - Investigators in the Town of Tonawanda continue to investigate what caused a fatal house fire earlier on Monday.
The fire was reported at around 2 p.m. on Woodstock Avenue, not far from Kenmore East High School.
The Brighton Volunteer Fire Company was joined by several other town volunteer fire companies in battling the fire.
The fire was contained to that address, where 73-year-old resident Maureen L. Schmitt was found deceased. She was the only one in the residence.
