NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- Nine people were shot in Newark’s Weequahic neighborhood on Thursday, according to Newark's Acting Public Safety Director Raul Malave.
The drive-by shooting took place on the 200 block of Clinton Place around 6:20 p.m., officials said.
Eight adults and one juvenile were hit, according to police.
Emergency responders took four adults and the minor to Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.
The other four adult victims were taken to University Hospital.

All of the victims are in stable condition, according to authorities.
Police believe the perpetrator or perpetrators were driving a white Honda Pilot that was stolen in Jersey City.
An investigation is ongoing.
