1 dead after 2 teen boys hit by train while subway surfing in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — One 14-year-old boy was killed and another was seriously injured after they were hit by a northbound L train while subway surfing at the Broadway Junction station in Brownsville Thursday afternoon, according to police.

The boys were reportedly in a tunnel near the station when they were hit. Mayor Eric Adams' Office confirmed subway surfing led to the incident.

One of the boys was declared dead on arrival, but EMS rushed the other to Cohen Children's Medical Center in stable condition. Authorities believe he will survive.

Officials did not specify the the exact time of the accident.
