2 motorcyclists in critical condition after Queens crash: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man and a woman on a motorcycle were hospitalized in critical condition after they were struck by a vehicle attempting to make a u-turn at a Queens intersection Sunday night, authorities said.

At around 9 p.m., the victims - a 30-year-old man and a 21-year-old female passenger, were riding on a 2014 Ducati motorcycle on 37th Avenue and Junction Boulevard in Corona when they collided with a 2019 Toyota CHR that was attempting to make a U-turn, officials said Monday.

Responding officers discovered the victims lying on the roadway, with serious injuries.

The 21-year-old driver of the Toyota suffered no reported injuries and stayed on the scene after the crash, police said.

The victims were taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/ Elmhurst Hospital and are listed in critical condition.

An investigation is ongoing.
