Police responded to a 911 call just before 1:45 a.m. regarding a vehicle collision on the Henry Hudson Parkway at the Cross Bronx Expressway.

A preliminary investigation found that the BMW sedan was traveling southbound on the Henry Hudson Parkway, near 181st Street, when it lost control and struck a concrete wall, causing the vehicle to veer off the roadway and land on Amtrak tracks below, where it burst into flames, authorities said.

The 39-year-old driver, identified as Edgar Valette, was ejected from the car and pronounced deceased at the scene.

An unidentified female was discovered inside of the car and pronounced deceased. A third unidentified male was discovered underneath the car and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The NYPD's Highway Collision Investigation Squad is investigating the incident.
