
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A Hispanic man was assaulted with a metal pipe and robbed in Queens during a suspected hate crime incident, authorities said.

The attack occurred on Sunday around 10:45 p.m. in front of 80-02 Roosevelt Ave. in Elmhurst, police said.
The suspect approached the 51-year-old victim and told him “I hate all Spanish people. I’m gonna rob you. I’m gonna [expletive] kill you” before hitting the victim with a metal pipe, according to cops.
Before fleeing the scene, the attacker stole the victim’s wallet.
The victim was taken to Elmhurst General Hospital in stable condition with a laceration to the left side of his face.
No arrests have been made yet. The incident is being inestigated by the NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force.
