Bronx motorcyclist dies crashing into subway pillar near home

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A Bronx motorcyclist died after he struck an elevated subway pillar near his home, police said Sunday.

Timothy Lopez, 33, was heading south on White Plains Road in Williamsbridge when he collided with the pillar at East 217th Street around 11:10 p.m. Friday.

Police said Lopez, who lived just down the block from his home, was ejected and landed on the roadway.

He was rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was pronounced dead.

An investigation is still ongoing.
