
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD announced on Tuesday an arrest in the fatal stabbing of a 25-year-old man found in an SUV on a street in Queens last week — the ex-boyfriend of his girlfriend.
Police arrested Semair Taylor, 25, in the Feb. 27 murder of 25-year-old Michael Izquierdo.
Taylor's charges include murder, robbery, assault, and harassment.
He was the ex-boyfriend of Izquierdo's girlfriend, cops said.
According to officials, Izquierdo drove with his girlfriend to 97th Ave. and 98th St. in Ozone Park to meet Taylor, who she owed money.
Izquierdo confronted Taylor and a dispute ensued before he was stabbed in the torso.
Taylor fled the scene and Izquierdo drove off in his a 2014 blue Subaru Outback SUV, leaving his girlfriend at the scene, the NYPD said.
While driving, Izquierdo called a friend and told him he had been stabbed and collapsed a few blocks later behind the wheel at Woodhaven Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue, officials said.
Police responded to the friend's 911 call of a man assaulted where officers observed Izquierdo sitting in an SUV with stab wounds.
The girlfriend went to the 106th Precinct stationhouse to report the incident. officials said.
EMS transported Izquierdo to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was subsequently pronounced dead.
