The 3-year-old girl was allegedly walking with a relative near East Tremont and Baisley avenues around 1:20 p.m. when the man picked her up.
Eyewitnesses were able to stop the girl from being taken away, though the suspect fled, police said.
The NYPD said the suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 40s.
EMS responded and evaluated the victim who did not suffer from any injuries.
