Police said officers responded around 4:30 a.m. to a 911 call at 175 Tapscott Street, near the Tapscott Rehab Houses in Brownsville.

Upon arrival, cops found Jose Flores with a gunshot wound to his torso.

EMS responded and transported him to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

Sources told AMNY that Flores was stopped in his car while driving down Tapscott Street by a group of men riding inside another vehicle.

The group of men reportedly surrounded Flores' car and then engaged in some sort of verbal dispute.

Sources told the outlet it is unknown at this time what led to the argument.

He got out of the car and further argued with the group seconds before he was shot.

There are no arrests at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
