Officials arrested 35-year-old Nathaniel Owens just after 9 a.m. on Tuesday. His charges include attempted murder, attempted robbery, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon.

At approximately 4:15 am. on Friday, March 18, a 33-year-old man was exiting a vehicle in front of the Fifty Hotel & Suites by Affinia located on East 50th St. near Third Ave. when he was allegedly approached by Owens who displayed and discharged a firearm multiple times, police said.
The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the groin area and multiple gunshot wounds to both legs.

According to the NYPD, Owens then attempted to remove property from the victim, but was unsuccessful at doing so.
The victim was wearing a six-figure designer watch at the time of the incident, the New York Post reports.
No words were exchanged between the victim and Owens.
Owens fled the location westbound on Third Avenue in a black four-door sedan BMW with an unknown female accomplice, cops said.

EMS transported the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue in critical but stable condition.
The investigation remains ongoing.
