Man, 64, loses consciousness after hit in head with rock in random subway station attack

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 64-year-old man lost consciousness after being hit in the head with a rock during a random attack on a Brooklyn subway platform, authorities said.

The incident happened just before 1 a.m. Saturday as the victim was walking on the D train platform at the Avenue H station in Midwood, police said.

The suspect went up to the man and engaged him in a verbal dispute before he hopped into the subway tracks to get a rock, officials said.'

After pulling himself back onto the platform, the attacker then hit the victim in the head multiple times with the rock, causing him to lose consciousness, according to cops.

Emergency responders transported the victim to Maimonides Medical Center in stable condition with trauma to his head.

The suspect is described as having a dark complexion, in his 30s, approximately 5'9' in height, and weighing about 170 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.
