NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- A 68-year-old man lost a tooth after he was sucker-punched outside Penn Station, police said Monday as they searched for his attacker.

The victim was in front of the U.S. Post Office across the street from Penn on the morning of March 10 when another man came up and punched him in the face around 10:45 a.m. in an unprovoked assault, according to police.

The impact of the punch sent the victim to the ground. He suffered a head injury and lost a tooth, police said.

The victim was transported by EMS to Bellevue Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition and eventually released.

The suspect fled on foot southbound down Eighth Avenue and into Penn Station, police said.
