Man, 77, dies nearly 2 months after hit by car while crossing Queens street

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) —A 77-year-old man who was hit by a car nearly two months ago has died, police said Wednesday.

The Washington Heights man, Richard Wasley Jr., was at Roosevelt Avenue and 114 Street in Corona, Queens attempting to cross around 4 p.m. when he was struck, authorities said.

A 46-year-old driver in a Chevy Traverse SUV was turning onto 114th Street when he hit Wasley, an investigation revealed.

Wasley was transported to New York- Presbyterian Hospital-Queens with head trauma in critical condition. He died eight weeks later.

The driver remained on the scene and was issued a summons for failure to yield to a pedestrian.
