The 38-year-old victim was found shot in the left shoulder by NYPD officers responding to a 911 call at a home on Hinton Street, near Woodrow Road, in Arden Heights just after 1:30 a.m.

EMS transported the man to Staten Island University Hospital South, where he was pronounced dead.

The man’s identity has been withheld pending the notification of his family.

Police believe he was shot by two men during a home-invasion robbery.

The suspects fled the home and were still on the loose Thursday, police said.

Sources told the Staten Island Advance that one of the intruders fired a single round before he and the other suspect took off with a chain belonging to the victim, who lived at the home.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
