
SPRING LAKE, N.J. (WCBS 880) -- A pedestrian was fatally struck by a NJ Transit train in New Jersey late Thursday night, authorities said.
According to an NJ Transit spokesperson, a man was hit and killed at about 11:50 p.m. on the North Jersey Coast Line near the Spring Lake station.
Train 4398 was the final shuttle train of the day between Bay Head and Long Branch and none of the six passengers or crew on board were injured.
The pedestrian’s identity was not available pending family notification.
The circumstances of the crash are unclear.
An investigation by NJ Transit police is ongoing.
