
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – An NYPD officer was injured when a Long Island man driving a stolen vehicle struck his leg while fleeing cops in Queens on Tuesday evening, police said.

NYPD officers saw the man spray-painting a black Honda Accord at Guy R. Brewer Boulevard and 109th Avenue in Jamaica just after 7 p.m.
As the officers approached the man, he hopped in the driver’s seat of the Honda and sped off, police said.
While fleeing the location, the man struck the officer and injured his leg, according to police.
The car thief and his accomplice were apprehended “moments later” without incident, police said. Citizen App video shows a heavy police response in the area.
The officer was transported by EMS to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center for a contusion to his leg. He was later discharged from the hospital.
The suspect— Sean Kelly, 43, of Long Island—was charged with felony assault on a police officer, felony reckless endangerment, grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, obstruction of government administration, resisting arrest, unauthorized use of a vehicle and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Kelly’s alleged accomplice— Nicole Chang, 38, of Queens—was charged with grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, obstruction of government administration, resisting arrest, unauthorized use of a vehicle and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Police said an investigation is ongoing. No other injuries were reported.
