NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An off-duty police officer was punched in the head aboard a Queens subway on Wednesday night, police and a report said.
The 31-year-old was riding a southbound F train around 5:45 p.m. when the suspect punched him in the head multiple times near the Union Turnpike-Kew Gardens subway station, according to police.
The New York Post reported the victim in the apparent unprovoked attack was an off-duty cop. He was treated at the scene.
There was no indication the suspect, who appeared to be in his 30s, knew the victim was a police officer.
There are no arrests at this time, and the investigation is active and ongoing, police said.
