NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- An out-of-control, and reportedly stolen, car jumped a curb and struck six people in Washington Heights on Wednesday evening in a chaotic scene in which the driver fled on foot and then returned to be arrested by cops.

The injured included four adults and two children, all of whom suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The Honda Accord veered onto the sidewalk around 6:10 p.m. at W. 190th Street and Broadway, hitting the pedestrians and then crashing into a funeral home.

At least one of the people struck was pinned by the car on the sidewalk outside of the R G Ortiz Funeral Home. Bystanders rushed over as a mother of one of the children screamed for help.

Two girls had bloody noses, while three women and a man suffered minor injuries that included neck, back and leg injuries.

The 34-year-old woman driving the Honda ran from the scene but then returned and was arrested, according to police. It’s unclear if she was injured.

WABC reported that the car was stolen. The driver was charged with criminal possession of stolen property, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and driving without a license.
