
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — A 31-year-old man died after being hit by a car while trying to cross a Brooklyn street, police said.

The incident happened on Utica Avenue and Avenue N just before 9 p.m. on Saturday when the victim allegedly attempted to cross Utica Avenue outside of the crosswalk, authorities said.
The victim was struck by a 2006 Ford Explorer. When responding officers arrived, they observed the victim with trauma to his head. He was taken to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene. No arrests have been made.
The investigation remains ongoing by the NYPD Highway District Collision Investigation Squad.
