NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A person was rescued from Newtown Creek after falling from the Kosciuszko Bridge in Queens on Friday afternoon.

After units responded at 2:25 p.m. to the report of a person in the water, officials were able to spot the patient within the creek, the FDNY said.

Rescue swimmers were deployed into the water and, ultimately, the patient was brought onto an FDNY Marine Unit and transported to land.

The person, who has not been identified at this time, was transported to Methodist Hospital, officials said.

The victim's condition remains unknown at this time.
