Scooter driver, 50, critically injured in crash with minivan at Queens intersection

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 50-year-old man riding a scooter was critically injured after colliding with a minivan at a Queens intersection on Sunday morning, authorities said.

At about 9:25 a.m. the scooter rider crashed into a Honda Odyssey at the intersection of 28th Avenue and 42nd Street in Astoria, officials said.

The scooter driver was transported to Elmhurst Hospital in critical condition.

The 22-year-old driving the minivan suffered minor injuries, cops said.

The investigation is ongoing.
