NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A woman was killed and a man was critically injured in a shooting in a Bedford-Stuyvesant apartment on Thursday, according to police.

The shooter opened fire in an apartment on Pulaski Street near Malcolm X Boulevard around 1:05 p.m., officials said.
The woman was hit multiple times and the man was shot once in the head.
Emergency responders rushed both victims to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, where the woman was pronounced dead and the man is in critical condition.
The NYPD said a person of interest is in custody, but the investigation is ongoing.
Officials have not yet released the identities of the victims or the circumstances of the shooting.
