Teen boy charged with murder in shooting of boy, 14, in E. Harlem

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Authorities charged a teen boy in the shooting death of 14-year-old boy in East Harlem last week, police said.

According to officials, a 17-year-old boy whose name has not been released was charged with murder, attempted murder, assault, and criminal use of a firearm.

On July 19, 14-year-old Justin Streeter, of Plainfield, New Jersey, was shot in the head while leaving a deli near E. 128th Street and Park Avenue around 4:20 p.m.

He was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem where he died.

A 15-year-old boy was also shot in the leg during the shooting.

According to the NYPD, the two teens were targeted by a gunman as they left a deli near the shooting scene.

The gunman fired at the boys from a street corner, striking both of them before fleeing.
