The victims, ages 17 and 14, were at the Van Dyke Playground on Dumont Avenue in Brownsville when someone drove by on a scooter around 12:30 a.m. and opened fire, according to police.

The 17-year-old was shot in the back. He was taken to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center.

The 14-year-old was shot in the right foot and taken to the same hospital.

Both victims are expected to survive, police said.

Police were seen canvassing the playground with flashlights after the shooting.

The shooter fled the scene and was still being sought Thursday.

The shooting came on a violent night across the city that saw two men shot dead in Brooklyn and Queens and a third fatally stabbed in the Bronx. A woman was also shot in the chest after she got caught in the crossfire of a gun battle in Queens.
