NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – Police are searching for a thief who they say stole marijuana and other valuables from a man’s car in Staten Island.
The 25-year-old victim reported the pot theft to police, who released a photo of a male suspect on Tuesday.

The thief entered an unlocked, unoccupied Nissan Murano parked near Simonson Place and Catherine Court in Port Richmond on the night of Sept. 16, according to police.
He snatched a bag of marijuana worth $120, along with $2,000 in cash, Prada sunglasses valued at $300 and Beats headphones worth $200, police said.
New York state legalized marijuana possession for people 21 and older earlier this year, which may explain why the man wasn’t hesitant to report the theft to police.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
