NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — Dramatic body-camera footage released by the NYPD on Monday shows the moment an officer rushed to save a 4-year-old girl who was wounded during a shooting in Times Square.

Gunfire erupted around 5 p.m. on Saturday near West 44th Street and Seventh Avenue.

According to reports, two brothers got into an argument at the intersection and the situation quickly escalated when one of them opened fire.

Gunfire then struck a 23-year-old woman from Rhode Island, a 43-year-old woman from New Jersey and a 4-year-old girl from Brooklyn. All are expected to survive.

Video released by the NYPD on Monday showed the moment Officer Alyssa Vogel heard that a child was injured and rushed to bring her to safety.

The footage shows Vogel sprinting towards the injured girl and immediately rushing to wrap a tourniquet around the girl’s leg, where she was injured. She then scoops the girl into her arms and heads straight for an ambulance.

“She was amazing. I can’t believe that a little girl her age who had just been shot was so calm,” Officer Vogel told CBS2.

She added that, as the mother of a 6-month-old, she felt an overwhelming instinct to help.

“I was just looking at her, saying if this was my kid, I would be running her myself to the hospital, or an ambulance,” she told the outlet.

Vogel said the girl’s mother was with them the whole time and says she took the time to console the panicking mom.

“When I was with the mother, I was trying to calm her down, because obviously she was in a state. It was starting to settle in what was happening. Just trying to get her to not have a panic attack, let her know it’s okay, your daughter’s okay,” Vogel said.

The officer accompanied the girl and her mother to the hospital, where doctors then took over. And though she is being hailed as a hero, Vogel says it was all a team effort.

“To me and every other cop on scene, we’re just doing our job,” she told CBS2.

Vogel says that she was told the girl has had surgery and is in stable condition.

As of Monday afternoon, no arrests have been made in connection to the shooting. However, police have released video and photos of the suspect and have reportedly spoken to the suspect’s brother – the intended target of the shooting – to identify him.
