HILLSBOROUGH TOWNSHIP, N.J. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A man who allegedly prowled naked outside New Jersey homes in a wig and bandana in 2018 was arrested after a homeowner spotted him masturbating on his property a few weeks ago, prosecutors said Wednesday.
The lewd incidents date back to late 2018, when a "naked male" was seen outside residences in Hillsborough Township, according to the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office.
On the night of Sept. 14, 2018, a naked man wearing only a black wig, black shoes and a black face covering was seen on surveillance video by the backdoor of a home on Triangle Road.
Less than two months later, on Nov. 1, a resident of Meadowbrook Drive contacted cops around 7 p.m. to report a naked man at the backdoor of her home.
A surveillance camera captured him "peering into the house" that evening, according to prosecutors, who said he was again wearing the black wig, as well as striped shoes and a face bandana.
The next incident linked to the case wasn't until March 22 of this year, when cops were summoned to Meadowbrook Drive around 10:15 p.m. by a homeowner, who said he saw a man masturbating on his property and had captured it on surveillance video.
Cops couldn't locate the man, but they reviewed the video and confirmed a man wearing only underwear and a bandana was on the property.
An investigation by the Hillsborough Township Police Department and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office led detectives to Bernandino Gonzalez Lorenzana, 36, of Hillsborough.
He was taken into custody last Thursday and charged with three counts of fourth-degree peering, two counts of fourth-degree lewdness and one count of lewdness, which is a disorderly persons' offense.
Anyone who believes they have information related to the investigation is asked to contact the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office at (908) 231-7100, or the Hillsborough Township Police Department at (908) 369-4323.
