Person fatally struck by NJ Transit train in Somerset County

FAR HILLS, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A person was struck and killed by a New Jersey Transit train late Wednesday night in Somerset County.

The pedestrian was hit west of the Far Hills station at 11 p.m., a New Jersey Transit spokesman told NJ.com.

The eastbound Gladstone branch train with three individuals on board left Gladstone at 10:49 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Hoboken at 12:22 a.m., the official said. Service was briefly suspended and then resumed.

The victim has not been identified at this time.

New Jersey Transit Police are investigating the incident.
