STONY BROOK, LI (WCBS 880) — Suffolk County Police are investigating a hit-and-run in Stony Brook that left a 33-year-old woman dead on Monday.

The incident happened around 5:15 a.m. as the victim, Gina Paduano, was walking in front of 2350 Route 347 when she was struck by a vehicle, police said.
The driver fled westbound from the scene along Route 347, authorities said.
Paduano was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives are asking anyone with information about the incident to call the Major Case Unit at 631-852-6553 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
